According to the Chicagoist, American production and DJ duo, Classixx “became staples in DJ sets all over the world”. Often recognized for their reworks for artists such as Phoenix, Holy Ghost!, and Yacht, Classixx have established a refreshing take on electro in a scene filled with repetitive sounds and lack of culture. Barely into their twenties, the DJ duo have begun defining a new sound for the Los Angeles electronic scene. Classixx have cultivated the perfect sonic disco sound, utilizing vintage melodies with a disco beat structure. A refreshing change from the trance and techno inspired Electro that has been dominating dance floors; their Donna Summers-esque grooves have invaded the crates of some of the worlds most notable DJs and caught the ears of music aficianados, fans and artists alike. With recent remixes for groundbreaking artists such as Phoenix, The Ting Tings, Shiny Toy Guns, Groove Armada, Drop the Lime, and the Sounds, their funky midtempo sound is turning heads everywhere. Classixx is celebrated for their debut hit single, “I’ll Get You” featuring Jeppe (Junior Senior), released in the summer of 2009 on Paris based Kitsune Records. Pitchfork wrote that the duo gave Phoenix’s “Lisztomania” “a gorgeously pillowy synth-disco framework”. The Los Angeles Times called it “pure disco cotton candy”. Classixx has since then released their debut album showcasing new single, Into The Valley, feat. Karl Dixon.
